May is National Hamburger Month. With Memorial Day coming up and nice warm weather, it makes for the perfect time to head outside and light up the grill. On average, Americans eat about 3 hamburgers each week! As the weather warms up and Memorial Day approaches, it’s the perfect time to celebrate National Hamburger Month by firing up the grill and enjoying some delicious burgers. Did you know that, on average, Americans consume about three hamburgers each week? That’s a testament to the popularity and versatility of this classic dish.
To help you celebrate National Hamburger Month in style, we’ve compiled three of our favorite hamburger recipes that are sure to tantalize your taste buds and impress your friends and family.


Stuffed Burger
Delicious stuffed burger recipe with chopped mushrooms and swiss cheese
Equipment
- Grill
- Knife
- Bowl
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup onion soup mix
- 2 lbs ground beef
- 2 tbsp Worchester sauce
- 1/3 cup chopped mushrooms
- 1 cup Swiss cheese shredded
- 1 large potato shredded and peeled
Instructions
- To Make:
- Preheat the grill on high heat.
- Place the mushrooms, cheese and potato in a bowl and mix together.
- In another bowl combine the ground beef, onion soup and Worchester sauce.
- Make six patties and place on a plate or tray. Use your hand to make a large pocket in each one. Place the potato, cheese and mushroom mixture into the pocket. Pinch the pocket closed with your fingers.
- Cook on the grill about 5 minutes on each side.

Bacon Burger
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- ½ cup cheddar cheese shredded
- 2 teaspoons ketchup
- 1 large egg
- 6 slices of bacon
- 12 toothpicks
Instructions
- Heat the grill on high heat.
- Place the cheese, egg and ketchup in a bowl and mix together.
- Put the ground beef in the bowl and combine. Make six patties.
- Wrap a piece of bacon around each burger. Use toothpicks to secure the bacon onto the burger.
- Cook each side for 5-6 minutes until the bacon is cooked and the burger is well done. Remove the toothpicks prior to serving.

Hot and Spicy Burger

Ingredients
- 1 ½ pounds ground beef
- 1 medium sized jalapeno pepper seeded and chopped
- 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning mix
- 1 medium sized onion diced
- 1 tablespoon Worchester sauce
- ½ teaspoon pepper
- 6 slices pepper jack cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the grill to medium heat.
- Place all of the ingredients together in a bowl and mix together until thoroughly combined. Make 6 hamburger patties.
- Cook on the grill about 5 minutes. Place a piece of pepper jack cheese onto each patty and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until melted.
