Dunkelweizen translates to “dark wheat” and is a traditional German ale brewed as a darker and stronger version of the Bavarian Weissbier from the 15(th) century. Samuel Adams Dunkelweizen is a unique, authentic representation of this beer style with a complex flavor and crisp finish. Dark amber-brown in color, this unfiltered ale is brewed with traditional Bavarian yeast, which imparts a wide spectrum of flavors and aromas from spicy clove and nutmeg to tropical fruits and banana.

The Samuel Adams Harvest Collection Variety Pack will be available nationwide beginning this month, for a suggested retail price of $13.99-$15.99. The other five full-flavored craft beers in the 12-pack collection are:

Samuel Adams Boston Lager(R) was first brewed in Jim Koch’s kitchen in 1984. This beer helped lead a beer renaissance in America by reviving a passion for full-bodied brews that are robust and rich in character. This beautiful, deep amber color lager is brewed using only the four classic beer ingredients and centuries old brewing methods.

Samuel Adams((R)) OctoberFest is brewed to celebrate the arrival of autumn. The first thing you notice when pouring a glass of this seasonal beer is the color. Samuel Adams OctoberFest has a rich, deep golden amber hue, which itself is reflective of the season. This hearty lager is rich with a blend of four malts – Harrington, Caramel, Munich, and Moravian – to create a delicious harmony of sweet flavors. The sweetness is balanced by the elegant bitterness imparted by the hand-selected Bavarian Noble hops.

Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat(R) is a tangy, refreshing beer that is light on the palate and long on complexity. Combining Michigan cherries with a generous portion of wheat malt produces a bright, lively ale with a crisp finish. A small amount of honey enhances the natural sweetness of the fresh cherries.

Samuel Adams((R)) Brown Ale was chosen by more than 11,000 beer lovers across the country who sampled it to join the Samuel Adams family of beers. This traditional ale is brewed with a malted barley blend, imparting notes of toasted malt, biscuit, nut and caramel. With mild hop character, this beer satisfies the soul yet doesn’t overwhelm the palate.

Samuel Adams(R) Irish Red Ale is malty and slightly sweet, balanced by earthy notes from the hops. The gentle rain and fertile soil of Ireland helped inspire this style of ale, known for being remarkably balanced. Pale and Caramel malts give the beer its rich, deep red color and distinctive caramel flavor. The sweetness of the malt is pleasantly balanced by a pronounced hop bitterness and an earthy note from the East Kent Goldings hops. Samuel Adams Irish Red finishes smooth and leaves you wanting to take another sip.

THE BOSTON BEER COMPANY BACKGROUND:

The Boston Beer Company began in 1984 with a generations-old family recipe that Founder and Brewer Jim Koch uncovered in his father’s attic. After bringing the recipe to life in his kitchen, Jim brought it to bars in Boston with the belief that drinkers would appreciate a complex, full-flavored beer, brewed fresh in America. That beer was Samuel Adams Boston Lager(R), and it helped catalyze what became known as the American craft beer revolution.
